Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) develops when there is a decrease of oxygen to the heart for a prolonged period of time, which may lead to a heart attack. Every day, medical researchers are working to develop new treatments that can help patients with ACS manage their condition both safely and more effectively. A clinical research study is being conducted world-wide to assess the effectiveness of an orally administered, investigational medication in patients who have recently suffered a heart attack.
